We want you to get the most out of your purchase, but we also want to make sure that any packaging we use to send your card/s can be either reused or recycled.
Where there other ways to reuse our packaging?
Reusing the envelope as an envelope is the most obvious way, obviously, so we went away and had a think whether there other ways we could reuse our cardboard envelopes.
So we got on scratching our heads and sketching out a couple of ideas:
We decided to go with the finger puppet theatre. First we did some photo-typing as proof of concept, and to test what could be done:
We then applied this design to our envelope.
How to make your own puppet theatre
What to know how to make it yourself?
The equipment you are going to need:
A pair of scissors or craft knife (adult supervision required)
A ruler
A cutting mat or chopping board
A scorer or similar
Glue
Fabric for curtains (if desired)
Some battery operated tiny fairy lights or similar (totally optional)

The instructions you are going to need:
Using your craft knife or scissors, cut the edge (just the edge) off the right and left sides of the envelope along with the bottom so that you end a front and back which are separate.

Once you have separated the front from the back, take the front of the envelope and cut off the tab (which is used to seal the envelope) at the top and put it to one side.
Draw a rectangle that measures 12 x 8.5cm in the middle of the front of the envelope. Cut out this shape. From this rectangle you will need to cut out the tabs that measure 6 x 1.5cm which are used to hold the sides together and the two stage "curtains"measuring 12 x 3cms.
Once you have cut each part out you should have:
4 x tags that will hold the front and the back together
2 x "curtains" you can either use the template to cut out fabric curtains, (or you could colour in the card to make them look like curtains)
1 x tab that will become the edge of the stage

Take your curtains and glue on to the back of the front side to each side of the cut out area.
Take each of the tags and score a fold 0.5cm from the edge which you will use to glue the fronts to the backs with the space between the front and the stage.

Glue to the front to the back to front using the four tags. Let the glue dry before standing up.

Et voila, here is my finger puppet theatre.
Reusing the envelope as an envelope is the most obvious wa, obviously, so we went away and had a think about how we could reuse our hard cardboard envelopes.

Do you have any reuse of your packaging you would like to share with us? Also, let us know if you would like the instructions to make the doll's house.
